What is a C licence?
A class C license is a commercial copyright (CDL). This licence allows drivers to operate vehicles with a gross weight rating (GVWR) of up to 26,000 pounds. This includes passenger vehicles such as vans, buses, and trucks. It also allows drivers to drive vehicles used to transport certain hazardous materials, as they are equipped with the appropriate endorsements.
A class C copyright is a complicated procedure that involves a number of steps, including determining your state's requirements, passing various exams and training, and then taking the driving test. However, it is an essential step for those wanting to operate a variety of different kinds of vehicles. A class C license can open up many career options, such as delivery drivers, driving instructor and full-time or part-time trucking.
To get a class C license, you must first pass the written knowledge test. It is recommended that you go through the MTO Truck Handbook to prepare for the test. This book includes the essential driving skills as well as specific regulations truck drivers need to know. You can get the handbook on the internet at a DriveTest and ServiceOntario centre or at a variety of book stores.
After passing the written knowledge test you can take the driving test. You may need to pass a variety of driving tests, based on what type of vehicle you plan to drive. The MTO website provides a complete list of all available tests.
Once you have passed the driving test, you will receive a class C license. Then, you are able to drive the car that is similar to your licence. You can add additional categories to your licence by submitting an application for them and passing the appropriate tests.
Be aware that you must be at minimum 18 years old to drive in your province or territory, and 21 for interstate driving. You will also need to provide proofs of your age, identity and residence to be able to get an copyright. What are the requirements for a C license?

You will need to submit evidence of your identity and age, together with a copy of either your chauffeur or operator's license, if applicable in order to apply for the C licence. You will also have to pay an application fee.
How do I apply for a C license?
The process of applying for C licenses is similar to the process of obtaining an ordinary copyright. You must pass a written test and an examination on the road. You can find out more about the requirements by reading the official MTO truck handbook, which is available online, at DriveTest and ServiceOntario centers and in many retail stores.
You can also print the application form and bring it along to the medical exam. Once you've completed the knowledge and skill tests, you need to pass the medical exam at a facility that is approved before your copyright can be issued.

How do I obtain my C license?
You must be at minimum 18 years old and pass a medical test to obtain a C license. You also need to have a full car licence (category B) and pass the C licence test. You can take the test on your computer or at a driving centre. It is recommended that you study and practice driving with a friend prior to taking the test. After passing the test, a certificate will be issued and you'll also receive a copyright.
If you are under 18 years old, you can apply for a C+E permit but you will need to have your parent or legal guardian sign a consent form stating that they agree to let you drive large vehicles. Before you can apply for a C+E licence you must first be able to pass the C driving test and have a car copyright (category B). You can then start training through HGV driving schools in order to master the skills required to drive an articulated truck. The courses typically last 5-7 days and cover the basics of driving an articulated vehicle. You will also be taught about the laws of driving as well as health and safety, and how to prepare a lorry before getting on the road.
Once you've completed your education and completed your training, you must undergo a medical examination before you can apply for the C+E licence. This will confirm that you are fit to drive an articulated lorry and that you aren't having any medical conditions which could hinder your ability to operate the vehicle safely.
